| VoiceGard Connects WorldWide Telecom
to Clients Following Major Electrical Storm
WorldWide Telecom reports VoiceGard transferred the company’s
telephone services back to normal operations – avoiding significant
customer satisfaction issues during a difficult time.
CHERRY HILL, NEW JERSEY (August 15, 2005) - Worldwide Telecom turned to VoiceGard when a not-so unusual summer storm created an unusual problem for the telecommunication services company.
During a recent lightening storm on August 9, 2005 WorldWide’s phone services were abruptly interrupted around 3 PM when their building was struck by lightning. Debbie Bonder, Director of Operations for Worldwide Telecom knew it was bad when the phones in their call center immediately went silent.
Bonder stated “this was extremely troublesome, not only did it occur in the middle of the afternoon, we had already been responding to several service outages by our clients.” The Worldwide call center supports over 1000 customers in the region and averages some 30 calls per hour.
Worldwide was assured by their Phone company that service would be restored in just a few hours, so they managed to get by with intermittent phone service for the remainder of the day. However when Bonder came into work the next day and realized that the phone service for the entire company was still out she knew something had to be done. "Not only were our phones still out of service from the afternoon before, the message now received by our clients when calling stated our service was disconnected”
That’s when Bonder turned to VoiceGard. VoiceGard specializes in Telecommunications continuity services and recovery solutions. Bonder notified VoiceGard's Voice Recovery Center and they invoked Worldwide Telecom’s disaster recovery plan. Service was restored utilizing VoiceGard’s recovery services within minutes. Bonder said "I called VoiceGard and their response was instantaneous. We had our call center back in operation and phone service for some of our supervisors as well. With services temporarily restored by VoiceGard, we were able to focus on resolving our issue with the phone company”.
By Thursday afternoon the phone company was able to dispatch a repair technician and replace the affected equipment. Bonder then made one more call to VoiceGard transferring services back to normal operations. Bonder said “The whole process was seem-less, VoiceGard helped us avoid significant customer satisfaction issues during a difficult time”
